is our middle schools are doing pretty poorly compared to the middle schools f finland, singapore, etc. so that makes you look at what are the best public schools doing? it is the case of the best public schools in massachusetts, minnesota, which i would add are states heavily unionized. states that are heavily unionized do have the best schools in the country. they are, they often have property taxes and they have local supporting them. that leads to equity issues but they do have strong, local support for the schools. and the wealthiest people in the community as well as the middle-clals and the lower income have kids that go to the schools. they are high quality schools. i went to one of those schools, i went to bedford until massachusetts k-12. pretty much they are the engineers, the korea, everyone september their kids to the public schools.
